Founding Partner
Toby Barnes Taylor MBE

Toby is a founding partner and project director for Nq2. He enjoyed a first career as an Army Officer for which he was honoured for successfully driving a £37M project for the Armed Forces. In 2011 Toby transferred his organisational skills to become a project director managing the delivery of large and complex construction projects in the UK and Europe. Having worked with Hilton Worldwide and Intercontinental Hotels Group, he has earned a reputation to always deliver projects on time, on budget and to the quality standards demanded.

Founding Partner
Janine Powell

Janine is a founding partner and designer director for Nq2. Janine has over 25 years of interior design and FF&E procurement experience and runs her own design company. Janine’s main forte and flair is within the hotel sector and she has worked with some of the top hotel chains throughout the UK, Europe and Africa such as IHG, Hilton, Accor & Marriott. Setting up her design practice in 2008, Janine heads every project personally supported by her studio designers, FF&E specifiers and CAD technicians to deliver a complete design package tailored to each clients needs and the brand requirement.

Financial Director
Bjorn Lindvall

Bjorn is the Financial Director at Nq2, joining the Nq2 team after gaining experience working closely with entrepreneurs and family offices in running their investment portfolios. Björn has over 15 years of investment experience from the Private Banking arms of Credit Suisse and Morgan Stanley.

Operations
Karl Goebel

Karl has joined Nq2 to head our branded hotel operations team. He has spent over 15 years in the hospitality industry, including the last 3 years as the General Manager of the 4* Mercure Abbey Hill Hotel Milton Keynes. In his 3 years at Milton Keynes as the General Manager, he led the hotel team to achieve Hotel of the year 2017 at the Food and Leisure awards as well as achieved the LGT service excellence award and hotel restaurant of the year 2017. Karl has been acknowledged by Accor Hotels as the driving force to elevate the Mercure Abbey Hill Hotel to be considered within the top 5 Mercure Hotels in the UK.

Training and Development
Paula Newman

Paula is responsible for Learning and Development at NQ2. With over 20 years of experience in leading worldwide hotel brands such as Sofitel and Hilton, Paula creates & delivers bespoke workshops and one to ones with senior & front line teams. Paula delivers the full hospitality spectrum, which includes leadership, guest engagement, service recovery, sales, motivation, inductions and appraisals. She also specialises in food and beverage service delivery and technical skills.
